Story Time!

November 18th, 2008

Sophie and I went to a special story time at the local library for infants under age 1.  It was a lot of fun, we sung songs and read books.  I did not know they designed story times for such young ones!  It was a neat experience and we will continue to look for future story times in our area.  As usual Sophie loved seeing all the other babies and Mommies, she was all smiles at anyone who looked at her!  What a ham!

Swimming!

November 17th, 2008

Today was Sophie’s second day of swim class.  She is definately a water baby like her Mommy!!  The parents and teacher have all been impressed with how well she takes to the water and even doesn’t mind going underwater! On the first day of class she wasn’t sure about being on her back in the water, but today she was floating on her back with no problem!!  Such a quick learner!

The inchworm

November 16th, 2008

We have been told we are using the wrong name for Sophie’s little crawl.  We have been calling it the caterpillar crawl but were told by a few people that it is more like an inchworm.  So my husband looked up a video of an inchworm on the internet and it sure does look like what Sophie is doing!!  Our little inchworm!!  Here is the video John found!

More rice cereal!

November 16th, 2008

Sophie had her second serving of rice cereal today!!  She ate the whole tablespoon of it!!  She did much better with eating, I think it helped that I made it a little thicker this time.  She was even reaching for the cereal and opening her mouth before the spoon got there!

Solid Food!

November 15th, 2008

Today we started Sophie on solids!  SHe had about 10 spoons of rice cereal before giving up on this whole eating thing for the day!  She did really well with the cereal, not too many silly faces and did not spit it out till the last few bites!  We will be starting some sweet potatoes in a few days!  Our little girl is growing up!

Crawling

November 15th, 2008

Sophie is trying REALLY hard to crawl, she has been doing her little caterpillar crawl since Halloween where she gets up on her hands and knees, moves forward and plops down on her belly, and repeat.  She can move across the room in less than a minute doing this crawl!!  She  has since learned to  move her hands and then learned how to move her left hand along with her knees, so we are just waiting for her to figure out how to move her right hand along with the other three and we will have a crawling baby!!

The Grandparents put in guesses of when she will start crawling, Grandma Wallner’s guess was one to two weeks after mommy started staying home with Sophie which would have been the 13th since my last day at work was the 30th, Grandpa Wallner’s guess is November 17th and Grandma Keiser’s guess is November 20th.  We are guessing Grandpa Wallner or Grandma Keiser is going to win this one because she really seems to want to crawl!!

Hello from the Keisers!
